«The Quebec Chapter of CAML is pleased to announce its first annual meeting,which will take place on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Laval University inQuebec City.
This one-day meeting is the successor to the Quebec Music Libraries Meeting/ Rencontre des bibliothèques de musique du Québec.
All who work with musicin libraries and/or are interested in music librarianship in Quebec arewelcome to attend.
A wide range of music library issues will be explored at this meeting. The day will begin with presentations on music collections of Quebec City andRDA: Resource Description and Access, the new cataloguing standard set tosucceed AACR2. The first Annual General Meeting of the Chapter will takeplace during lunch, after which we invite you to attend two panels: one onprocessing music materials, the second on the design of new music libraryspaces. Tours of the Arts and Music Section of Laval University’s Humanitiesand Social Sciences Library will also be offered. The day will end with awine and cheese reception to meet and mingle with colleagues from across theprovince. Finally, we wish to highlight a new feature of this year’s meeting: 5-minutebriefs! Is there a project you feel particularly proud of (praticaltraining?)?
